The UMA was founded in 1972. The UMA’s contributions to marine research are substantial and include the notable participation of several of its groups alongside international universities and institutions in scientific marine production. The following are of note in connection with the CEIMAR‘s themed degrees: undergraduate degrees in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Tourism and Law, all of which have modules and approaches related to marine topics, and the Official Masters in Water Resources and the Environment and Environmental Hydraulics. Because of its demonstrated quality in biological sciences and applied physics, this university is capable of providing support for cross-curricular courses that train PhDs in an interdisciplinary fashion. It offers instruction in the economics of production enterprises and exploitation of marine resources, maritime law and the use of marine products in the field of health, which are innovative and unusual in university education.
