The UAE is the benchmark university in northern Morocco. It has four campuses: Tangiers, Martil, Tetuan and Larache. Its most emblematic centres are the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques in Tangiers and the Faculty of Science in Tetuan.

It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees related to the sea: Environmental Sciences, Geological Engineering, International Transport and Port Logistics and Off-Shore Platform Management. A total of 140 post-doctoral researchers belonging to five major research groups take part in teaching and research activities related to the marine environment. They fall into the field of biological and environmental sciences: biology and health, biology applied to pathology, diversity and conservation of biological systems, biological methods for applied physics and biotechnology and geology, environment and natural resources.
