Andalusian Institute of Earth Sciences (IACT). The IACT is a mixed centre that belongs to the CSIC and the University of Granada (UGR) and develops research in the field of earth sciences (geology, geochemistry and geophysics), as well as support and intensification of research in advanced teaching in geology. Its research lines include marine geosciences and global change.

It combines research in geology, geophysics and geochemistry and biogeochemistry for the multidisciplinary study of current marine basins. Of special social relevance is the basic and applied research it conducts on global change, geological risks and natural resources. The IACT’s research staff participates in the UGR’s Masters and Ph.D. programme and especially in the marine geosciences and global change module.
